Coastal Challenge 2020

Greetings everyone and welcome to the news for the fifth annual Coastal Challenge which will take place throughout 2020  along with a big walk on Sunday September 6th 2020.

Maggie’s Centres are the beneficiary of the event and Coastal Challenge was created as a way of raising funds to say thank you to Maggie’s Fife for supporting my late partner Helen, as well as many members of our scouting and guiding families, and to help them to support the many people that will cross their threshold.

Joining the adventure is easy peasy lemon squeezy as those unable to take part on Sunday 6th September for the big walk can now choose to do the Coastal Challenge at any time in 2020 up to the end of October and on any part of the Coastal Path they choose. You don’t even have to register in advance.

Don’t worry if you can only fit your walk in from November onwards, we will include it in the 2021 total.

Choose your distance from Bronze (3 miles), Silver (6 miles), Gold (9 miles) or Platinum (18 miles) then choose where on the Coastal Path you wish to do it. There are many miles of Coastal Path so why not chose something different or new to you?

Select a date that suits you and gather as much sponsorship as you can in support of Maggie’s Centres and the amazing work they do to help many people.

If you wish to take part in the main event on Sunday 6th September 2020 then please gather for the big team cheer and photograph at Silver Sands beach at Aberdour at 1pm. You can arrange to start your walk from here or plan to be there at 1pm as part of your chosen distance.

We will gladly welcome along those that have already taken part in 2020 to take part in the big cheer. Don’t worry if your walk doesn’t entail Aberdour as we would be delighted if you post up your picture on the Coastal Challenge Facebook page.

Coastal Challenge badges will need to be purchased separately at £1.50 each (plus postage). In previous years the cost of the badge was part of the registration fee and since there is no registration fee that means you only pay for your badges.

To keep up to date with what’s happening please follow Coastal Challenge @coastalchallengeUK on Facebook where we will try and keep a running total going.
