Return of the Snaggle!!

Snaggle, the Cub cuddly mascot has made a return to Akela’s Den. Poor Snaggle was being discontinued by Scout Shops but persistent as we are Akela’s Den managed to persuade Scouts Shops to continue supplying our furry little friend.

We now have enough Snaggles to fill a Snaggle sanctuary so why not come along and give a Snaggle a loving home? Every Cub and Cub Leader should have one!

New in store is the Gelert thermo fold-a-mat which is a cosy wee folding mat to keep your posterior comfy when you decide to have a sit down and enjoy the Scottish rain or midges.

Camping season is here to kick away the winter cobwebs. In recognition that for many new members to the youth organisations it can be expensive to get kitted out we have lowered the prices of some of our most popular mid range sleeping bags so your wallet or purse can breathe a sigh of relief.

Even our most generous sized sleeping bag has had its price reduced so happy camping for all.

For the would be Bear Grylls amongst you we have just taken stock of a nice and lightweight folding knife with inbuilt fire steel and half serrated blade. This is the result of collaboration between Tool Logic and Light My Fire. It comes in a neat metal presentation box, or tinder box once you throw away the foam packing, and has a neat belt clip too. At £40.00 it is a nicely priced tool.

Akela has load tested the Vango Trek Mat at his first Cub Camp of the season and was delighted with how comfortable it is. So at least whilst the Cubs and rain kept him awake he was nice and comfy. Worth pointing out that these Trek Mats are below the RRP.

We are naturally excited by the new outdoor season and we have already been back in touch with the wonders that our planet can offer. There is nothing quite like the first brew of the day after a good night sleep in the fresh air whilst the wonderful smell of wood smoke gently drifts from your Kelly Kettle. Life is good?
